I have a question, I am in Oahu currently and would like to visit maui for 2 days. Do I take a flight to Maui – Kahului or Kapalua?
I would like to see the Haleakala sunrise and tour to Hana….

Fly to Kahului. Kapalua is much more expensive to fly into. If you’re staying on the west side (Kapalua, Lahaina, Kaanapali), rent a car or get a shuttle to your hotel. It’s about an hour drive from the airport, but you’ll be saving BIG BUCKS. If you’re staying on the west side and can get a good price to Kapalua, then go for it. If you plan on doing the Road to Hana and Sunrise at Haleakala, it would be wiser to stay on the South Side of Maui.
For Haleakala, you can rent a car, or you can do a tour. There are many different kinds of tours. You can do a day trip to Haleakala Crater and Upcountry Maui, or you can do a Maui bike tour. They’ll drive you up to the summit, you watch the sunrise, then they give you a bike and all the gear you need at the base of Haleakala National Park. finally, you cruise down miles of downhill countryside at your own pace. It’s a great trip.
