We’ve been fortunate enough to experience most of the commercial activities here on the Valley Isle. We’ve listed some of the most popular Maui outdoor Activities below. Let us know what you think in the comments!
Molokini Crater
Snorkel, sail, and enjoy Maui’s beautiful waters on your way to the famous Molokini Crater. It’s hard to think of a spot that has better clarity than within Molokini. Being a reserve for fish and birds allows for some pretty fun snorkeling too.
Hana Tours
In the last decade, there are few journeys we’ve personally taken as much as along the Road to Hana. The many coastal views and cascading waterfalls along the way are really only an accent to the warmth of the people you’ll meet along the way while picking up fresh banana bread and tropical smoothies. With the dozens of turns and bridges, it’s most easily enjoyed while riding in a large air-conditioned van with massive windows and an experienced guide driving you.
Sailing in Maui
Sail, snorkel, and enjoy Maui’s tranquility with nothing but the wind, ocean, and friends to break the silence. We love Kai Kanani because they keep passengers to a minimum. The service is incredible!
Maui Bike Tours
Biking downhill for over 23 miles along the slopes of Haleakala is pretty exhilarating. The views are unbelievable!
Maui Ziplines
Go ziplining over Maui rainforest on safe upcountry ziplines. Experience the rush of flying next to up to 3 other friends. Maui zipline tours will take you on nature walks with informative guides between each line. The views from above are amazing!
Haleakala for Sunrise
Considered a sacred area by Hawaiians, Haleakala is also home to more endangered species than any other National Park. It also happens to be one of the world’s most sublime locations to witness a sunrise, sunset, or stargaze from atop the 10,023-foot summit. We recommend making the most of the journey with a guided Haleakala Sunrise Tour, which includes round trip transportation from your accommodation, as well as a delicious breakfast after sunrise.
Maui Luaus
Enjoy a tropical feast while watching the exotic dances and fire-knife shows at an authentic Hawaiian Luau. This is one of those popular things to do on Maui that every visitor should do at least once. We always have fun!
Fishing in Maui
Catch delicious fish while bottom fishing with a professional captain and crew. Maui Fun Charters keeps the boat well-below capacity, so there’s plenty of room for a small group to fish and have plenty of attention from the crew. We loved this, and we’ve never gone fishing before. We caught dinner for 2 nights!
Maui Whale Watch
See Humpback whales up close as they exhibit all kinds of exciting surface behaviors. You just don’t know until you’ve been and had a “mugging.” That’s when they won’t let you leave (you can’t turn the engine on if there are whales within 100 feet, and they often swim and hang out with the boat.) INCREDIBLE!
Maui Windsurfing
Maui’s north shore is world-famous as the Mecca of windsurfing. With a consistent and powerful side on-shore wind (our Trade Winds), as well as sizable surf, windsurfers can boost 30 feet in the air. If you aren’t an experienced waterman/woman, please don’t try this. The waves and currents have proven deadly.
