While lounging on the warm sand of never-ending beaches and treating yourself to poolside spa treatments is most certainly a relaxing way to spend your next trip to Maui, there are many travelers looking for a little more excitement without necessarily committing to a 10-mile hike through Haleakala Crater or windsurfing at Ho’okipa Beach Park. Enter ziplining. See some of the best Maui ziplines for more.
Skyline Haleakala Course
Skyline Eco-Adventures is the first zipline tour in the United States and consistently one of the highest-rated activities on Maui.
With more than one location on the island, our favorite course is located on the slopes of Haleakala Volcano, where you’ll zip through eucalyptus trees in the cloud forest setting of beautiful Upcountry Maui.
Learn about several native Hawaiian bird species as well as the history of the Haleakala Ranch before setting out on the first of five ziplines. With the help of guides, you’ll be taken through rock valleys, a swinging bridge, and a native plant reforestation area. The views were incredible, and the guides were all very helpful, patient, and accommodating. You can tell they value safety above all and take each person’s comfort level into consideration.
The last of the five ziplines is a pendulum-style zipline (the only one on the island), where you’ll zip up and back and reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, which was a total rush and a fabulous way to end the day exploring the natural beauty of Upcountry.
