Other spots on Maui worth visiting:

Haleakala National Park is home to Maui’s highest peak, Haleakala, which offers stunning views of the island. There are also numerous hiking trails and campsites available for visitors to use (though advanced reservations are required and very hard to get). Haleakala National Park is a great place to see native Hawaiian plants and animals in their natural habitats.

Another must-see not far from Kahului is the Maui Ocean Center. This marine park is one of the largest in the state and is home to over 60 different species of fish. Located in Maalaea, the Maui Ocean Center is a great place for both kids and adults to learn about Hawaii’s amazing ocean life. Visitors can even pet starfish and urchin in the touch tanks!

For those looking for a more cultural experience, the Bailey House Museum is a great option (but in neighboring Wailuku). This museum tells the story of early missionaries in Hawaii and how they helped to shape the island’s culture. The museum also has a number of historic artifacts on display, making it a great place to learn about Hawaii’s history.
