First off, congratulations! September is a great time to come because the weather isn’t as hot as mid-summer and the crowds are lessened. We always recommend traveling off-season because you get better prices and more selection across the board.
Inexpensive restaurants can be found in areas that are away from the resorts. The most expensive restaurant on the island (Mama’s Fish House) has one of the best views. If you want a comparable experience try Five Palms at the Mana Kai in Wailea. The food is pretty good, and if you’re on the patio, you get an even better view than Mamas. If you’re on the west side, try Mala Wharf Restaurant. They have great food, and they sit pretty much right on the water. We love that place.
